New Sterilisation Reimbursement Policy and Form

Please note with immediate effect the changes to our sterilisation reimbursement policy.

Caregivers who are members of CWS will be reimbursed $20 per cat sterilised and $30 for the 5th cat onwards for receipts dated in the same month. Reimbursements are capped at $500 per person per month.

With these changes in place, we will be accepting sterilisation reimbursement claims in the new form format. You can download the new form here.

URGENT: Seeking Temporary Foster or Permanent Home for Injured Cat

I found and rescued an injured community cat. She is a black cat, extremely quiet and friendly and just loves to be patted.

Currently she is at the vet staying overnight. She has an injured and infected leg. She will need at least 3 weeks of bandage change each day.

The situation is that I have just moved to Singapore and am in the process of looking for a permanent place - where I am staying now has a strict no-pets policy.

URGENT: Seeking Temporary Foster Home for Scatha the Cat

Scatha is a beautiful domestic shorthair cat that one evening, months ago, sauntered into our shophouse and decided to stay. He was about a year old at that time. He seemed to already be toilet trained as he would wait his turn at the toilet door and use the squatting toilet (he would pee inside it!) when his turn came.

Update on Administration of Special Appeals

The Special Appeals page is to help caregivers gain more support for the care of community cats.

As many donors have asked for better accountability, from 1 Sep 2010, all donations for Special Appeals will be channelled through CWS and disbursed to cargivers accordingly to ensure veracity of appeals and transparency of donations of funds. All postings requesting for financial aid will need to be accompanied by receipts for vet treatment, pet supplies and/or other services incurred. These receipts will be posted on the appeals page.

URGENT: Funds Required for Treatment of Wounded Stray, Ginger

Ginger has been a stray in my neighbourhood for the past 7 years. However, he had possibly gotten njured in a fight and the wound got infected. We tried applying antiseptic to the wound for a few days but it didn't help.

With regards to the case of the 10 emaciated cats that was reported previously, we are happy to update that the cats are doing well and have been putting on weight. We have made contact with the family that abandoned the cats and have evacuated another 17 cats from their home for sterilisation and treatment. AVA is currently investigating into this case of abandonment and neglect, and we will update when there are new developments.

Of the cats that are currently fostered and cared for, 10 were extremely emaciated. The remaining cats that were evacuated are of decent condition and the suitable ones sterilised. The worst is over as the remaining cats currently still in the flat are doing well and will be gradually sterilised when they are of age. We are working with delicacy towards a pre-agreed number of sterilised cats to be kept under their care and monitored to ensure that the cats can be kept within their means. This is to minimise the risk of them picking up other unsterilised cats in future and spinning out of control again.

Paris
Some of the cats - including Paris, featured in this post - are now up for adoption to good and responsible homes that will give them a second chance at life.

Paris is active, very smart and affectionate! She has come a long long way from when we first found her. She has grown into a beautiful little kitty with a great loving character.

We are appealing for adopters for Paris so that she can be well cared for in a good, responsible home and given a brand new lease of life.

CWS will be screening interested adopters to ensure that these cats can find suitable permanent, loving homes. An adoption fee of $40 per cat will be levied. Paris is not sterilized and she will be required to go thru sterilization at an appointed vet, cost of sterilization will be beared by adopter at a subsidiased rate ( slight tipped ear)

Should you wish to adopt Paris and give him a new lease of life, kindly email fareena@catwelfare.org, with the subject header:

Adoption of Tampines Emaciated Cats

and indicating in your email the name of the cat that you are keen on adopting (in this case, Paris).

Thank you!

Nadia
Some of the cats - including Nadia, featured in this post - are now up for adoption to good and responsible homes that will give them a second chance at life.

Nadia is an independent, lovely and sweet-natured female cross-ragdoll cat, with a lovely grey and white coat. She's about 3 years of age. Nadia is very much a cat with a mind of her own - she thinks alot. And is very smart, yesterday she was trying to open her room door! We are appealing for adopters for Nadia so that she can be well cared for in a good, responsible home and given a brand new lease of life.

CWS will be screening interested adopters to ensure that these cats can find suitable permanent, loving homes. An adoption fee of $40 per cat will be levied. All adopters need to agree to sterilising the cats before adoption (if of age and as yet unsterilised, or once the cat is of age in future). CWS will then arrange for sterilisation at one of our partner veterinary clinics at a subsidised rate for the adopter.

Should you wish to adopt Nadia and give him a new lease of life, kindly email fareena@catwelfare.org, with the subject header:
