VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR SPAY DAY

29 Mar 05 - CWS needs volunteers for our Spay Day Clinics. We need volunteers both for weekdays and for a weekend. If you can help, please email us at info@catwelfare.org. The job descriptions are as follow :-

 

Clinic assistant (admission)

Responsibilities:
1.      Check presence of carrier tags.
2.      Transport cats from reception to holding area.
3.      Separate male cats and female cats in different parts of the holding area.
4.      Monitor cats while in holding area.
5.      Maintain hygiene and cleanliness of holding area.
6.      Assist in cleaning of clinic.
 
Required skills and experience:
·         Experience in handling stray cats.
·         Able to communicate in basic spoken and written English.
 
Reporting to:
Clinic manager.
 
Working hours:
Min. 1 day/week, 10.00 – 14.00 (Minimum committment for two months)
 

Clinic assistant (recovery)

Responsibilities:
1.      Transport cats from operating theatre to recovery area.
2.      Monitor cats while in recovery area.
3.      Swab cats’ ears, clean cats’ eyes, check for any visible injuries and wounds.
4.      Maintain hygiene and cleanliness of recovery area.
5.      Assist in cleaning of clinic.
 
Required skills and experience:
·         Experience in handling stray cats.
·         Able to communicate in basic spoken and written English.
 
Reporting to:
Clinic manager.
 
Working hours:
Min. 1 day/week, 14.00 – 18.00 (Minimum committment for two months)
 

Vet nurse

Responsibilities:
1.      Assist vet.
2.      Prepare cat for surgery.
3.      Check tags.
4.      Maintain hygiene and cleanliness of operating table, autoclave.
5.      Prepare and sterilise surgery packs.
6.      Monitor inventory of instruments, clinic consumables.
 
Required skills and experience:
·         Experience as vet nurse for 2 years.
·         Experience in handling stray cats.
·         Able to communicate in spoken and written English.
 
Reporting to:
Veterinarian.
 
Working hours:
Min. 1 day/week, 10.00 – 15.00 (Minimum committment for two months)
 

Veterinarian

Responsibilities:
1.      Sterilisation of cats, including administering anaesthesia, antibiotics.
2.      Keep records.
 
Required skills and experience:
·         Veterinary qualification recognised by Singapore Authorities
·         Experience as practicing vet for 2 years.
·         Experience in handling stray cats.
·         Able to communicate in spoken and written English.
 
Manages:
Vet nurse.
 
Reporting to:
Clinic manager
 
Working hours:
Min. 1 day/week, 12.30 – 16.00
