Members of the public have written to us to express their concerns that the misleading information published on the bonsaikitten.com website may be misconstrued by impressionable children and perhaps even unsuspecting adults as being true, and who might then try to mimic the culti vating of kittens in glass jars. Live kittens obviously cannot be grown within glass jars. What bonsaikitten.com is advocating is tantamount to abuse, for it would mean the wilful subjection of an animal to excessive pain and suffering. A kitten is not an object that can be twisted and moulded at will. We are appalled that the people who set up the website have wilfully, or at best irresponsibly, spun elaborate lies and convincing misinformation so as to mislead the public into believing that cultivating live kittens in tiny glass jars is possible and even aesthetically pleasing. The contents of the bonsaikitten.com website are not to be taken seriously and that the acts described therein should never be attempted.
