I WISH to thank Tan Shir Ee, Lee Kip Lee and Dawn Kua for their comments on the Kucinta cat (ST, Jan 16 and 21). The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) appreciates the feedback from members of the public and the Cat Welfare Society for local cats to be featured at the Singapore River. We have established contact with both the Cat Welfare Society and the Singapore Cat Club. The STB and the Cat Welfare Society have since met to discuss and explore ways to give the local breeds greater exposure. With help from the latter, the STB will be adding additional cat sculptures at the Singapore River. These will be modelled after the cats found in Singapore. More details will be announced soon.
